Snakes on a Plane, Jenny From the Block or A River Runs Through It?

This Friday the District will join five other world cities with a very special and exclusive distinction: we'll be home to a Madame Tussauds. Now there are six cities in which you can spend all your disposable income to see wax models of A- and B-list celebrities, rogue world leaders and soon to be forgotten sports stars. The DC Tussauds will feature stars of American history, politics and the sports, music and movie scenes. Winston Churchill, Franklin Roosevelt, Jennifer Lopez, Abraham Lincoln, J. Edgar Hoover, Brad Pitt and Samuel Jackson are just a few of the life-like, life-sized wax models which will be presented at the "museum."

I couldn't get the admission price off the Tussauds website or after calling any of the phone numbers listed, but the Las Vegas admission is $24, New York's is $29 and London's site is £22.50, or about $46. Forty six dollars? I'm sure we'll be in the $25-30 range. Downtown is becoming quite an interesting place. Lots of "entertainment" options... Madame Tussauds is located at 1025 F Street, one block from the last stop on the 42 bus.
