Libraries + Pizza + Yoga...?

Finally! Mount Pleasant Branch Library reopened yesterday after more than $11 million in upgrades, renovation and new construction. More than two years have passed since the doors closed. The city provided a temporary storefront library during the construction. I've been using the main library at 9th and G NW. But, hopefully I can break that habit and get back to our newly appointed space. The grand opening of the Mount Pleasant Library is this Saturday September 15, 2012 at 10:00AM.

Speaking of the main library... DCPL is holding a public forum of sorts to discuss the future of the Main Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. The city's flagship library is housed in a historic, modern (architecture) building at the other end of the 42 bus line at 901 G St NW. Next week the Board of Library Trustees will meet to discuss the future of the library; the physical and the programmatic. The public is invited to attend. September 19, 6:00PM.

Do you still have fridge magnets from Radius Pizza? Yes, you do. The number one question I am asked about Radius is "Do you think they'll ever reopen?" The number two question is "What do I do with all of these Radius magnets?" I don't know if they'll reopen. But, as for the second question...

How about take one to Mount Pleasant's Past Tense yoga studio. If you bring in a Radius refrigerator magnet, they'll give you 10% off a class pass. Can't really beat that. (Seriously, if you need a magnet for this promotion, ask me. I have some. A lot. So many.)
