Gap Store Opening Downtown

Gap will occupy the first and basement floors of 664 11th St NW.
The Gap was one of my middle school mall stand-bys. Gap, Structure, Up Against the Wall, PacSun, and the occasional parent-forced trip to Sears pretty much completed my school wardrobe shopping needs for several years. Gap sort of fell off for me in high school, but I still appreciate the aesthetic of plain, solid color, cotton anything.

The Washington Business Journal reports that the District's third Gap store will open in Metro Center, directly across the street from H&M and Forever 21. The 13,000+ square foot store would another good name brand option to an already apparel-heavy part of town. In addition to H&M and Forever 21, Guess (closed), American Apparel, Banana Republic, Anthropologie, J Crew, T.J. Maxx, and Zara are within 3 blocks of the new Gap store (664 11th Street NW). The new sore will be next to Crumbs Bake Shop and two doors down from Pret A Manger.
