Lord of Miracles: A Little Bit of Lima in DC

Walking back form the Dupont Farmer's Market, we came upon a familiar yearly sight: the Lord of Miracles Festival. The actual LoM Festival is held each October in Lima, Peru. However, from what I understand, Peruvians world wide duplicate the procession in their respective cities including New York and DC.

The procession in DC travels along Columbia Rd NW, stopping on each block along the way. This year there was also a gathering in Kalorama Park, including a few food vendors. I've come upon the festival by accident every year for the past 3 or 4 years, somehow. October makes for good walking outside weather in DC, so I guess its not too much of a coincidence. Read a little synopsis of the procession from Catholic News Service or this travel site.
