Mt Pleasant Main Street is finishing off its summer movie series with a bang. The best movie of all time (ok, maybe the best movie of my childhood, after Stand By Me) is being shown this Saturday. GOONIES! The star vehicle for future hobbit Sean Astin, wild child Corey Feldman and the DREEEAAMMMYYY Martha Plimpton, was a hit in 1985 and a remains a cult favorite.
There's no way you have avoided seeing this movie, but for those of you who have, it's probably intentional. It's basically a treasure hunt story involving a ragtag group of characters, each a stereotype of the kids you wished you grew up with. Shenanigans, hilarity ensue. Gold, pirate ships, first kisses and awesome bike rides. Get excited! Check the trailer below. Then go see the movie at Lamont Park this Saturday at 9:00 PM.
