Big, big shout out DC's Pizzeria Paradiso. I found the original Dupont location of this local pizza institution not long after I arrived in DC. Paradiso opened in November 1991 and is in its 20th year of operation. Along the way they moved the original location a few doors down to 2003 P St NW, opened a second restaurant in Georgetown and expanded outside of DC borders into Alexandria.
AND... they have awesome vegan pizza, which is what keeps me coming back, with the fine (and long) beer list as a close second. For the record, I like vegan pizza without any vegan cheese; just crust, tomatoes and veggies. They do it well. Have a great weekend. Eat some pizza!
