Mediterranean Spot opened in Adams Morgan less than one year ago. Now it appears that a new restaurant is moving into this constantly changing space at 2421 18th St NW. New signage (and a complete erasure of Med Spot signage) indicate that a cheesesteak and gyro restaurant will take its place.
This retail spot has been problematic since the original tenant, Caribou Coffee, vacated in 2010. Since then, it almost became another coffee shop (never opened), then hosted a pop-up retail store for the National Cherry Blossom Festival, then became Mediterranean Spot. Let's see if Philly Cheeseteak & Gyro lasts.
