Borderstan is reporting that a "space themed" bar will open in place of the beloved Meskerem Ethiopian Restaurant in Adams Morgan. The owners of Meskerem (2434 18th St NW) closed shop and sold the building earlier this year. It is comprised of three levels with a deceptively vast 3,649 square feet of floor space.
Borderstan reports that the new bar will have space theme and will be called 2020 Bar & Lounge. The name reminds me of another space themed restaurant, New York's Mars 2112. It's closed now, but offered a very... interesting dining experience to say the least. RIP Meskerem, but good luck to the new owners. Bring us something worthy!
