DC Veg Fest Keeps Growing

Since DC Veg Fest moved to Yards Park (2012) from a small quad on the campus of George Washington University, the profile and reputation of the event has grown along with the attendance. Attendance has grown from 6,000 during the 2011 festival held at GWU to over 10,000 last year. I expect even more this year. The event is part issue advocacy by dozens of non-profits, part product preview, part informational talks by various speakers, and part food, food, FOOD.

DC Veg Fest is being held on Saturday, September 20 from 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM. The location is Yards Park, at the intersection of N St SE and First St SE (Navy Yard Metro). The event happens rain or shine.

Potential highlights:

Speakers: Robin Quivers (!), Doron Petersan (cooking demo), Bryant Terry (cooking demo). Complete list of speakers.

I love this event and hope it's as big of a success as it's been the past few years. Big thanks to Compassion Over Killing for organizing this, and for all of their work, really. Great organization. See you there!
