ArtJamz has opened a storefront in Dupont. The concept is simple: get together with friends (or strangers) have a few drinks, and make art; all supplies included & any skill level welcome. Consider it another option for night on the town, but this night will have you making art and even getting a little art instruction. More art entertainment than art education here though. A novel idea, yeah? Looks fun! This is the first permanent retail space since ArtJamz was established in 2010. There are sessions for kids as well.
The upcoming sessions are $65, less without drink. That includes all the art materials (paint, on canvas, is the medium of choice), some amount of adult beverage, lite fare, plus access to staff. The whole experience lasts three hours. You get to keep the artwork, of course. I really like the idea and I'm betting it will be very successful in this permanent retail space, especially in Dupont. ArtJamz is located at 1742 Connecticut Ave NW, at S Street.
