Make It Mount Pleasant is calling for craft vendors! This homegrown, neighborhood craft market will take place on June 10, 2012. What is it you ask? When and where? You want to know, yes? From the organizers:
"This event is an initiative by the Mount Pleasant Business Association to show people from the neighborhood and all over the region that Mt. Pleasant is a great place to shop, dine and explore.
On June 10th, we'll set up a Craft Market in the lot of McCormick's Paints from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.
This Mount Pleasant Street event will feature the hand made and vintage market, bands, djs, kids activities in Lamont Park and sidewalk sales + specials at shops and restaurants along Mount Pleasant Street. Come for the market, stay to see all of what Mount Pleasant has to offer!"
So, the event is in June, but the call for vendors is now! The organizers would like potential vendors to apply by May 5, this Saturday. Here are the details, including what they're looking for. This will be a curated/juried market. That means vendors will be voted into the vend spots by a committee of other local artisans. Here is the vendor application.

This will be awesome. What a follow up to the Temporium! OK, not an immediate follow up, but these things take time, yes. A big, big thanks to McCormick Paints for the actual space as well as to the rest of the sponsors (and they're looking for other partners, too). If you want to be involved in other ways, send an email to info@mtpleasantdc.com. They need people to help in several areas including marketing and outreach.
Obviously, many, many thanks to the organizers for devising the concept and driving this bus to the destination! May you be showered with all the sweet and nifty crafts you can handle.
