18th Street NW in Adams Morgan is fully open and operation after more than one year of being in various states of closure. Just weeks ago, this major north-south corridor was reduced to two narrow, rocky lanes with no parking. As of last night, there are two full lanes of traffic, two lanes of parallel parking, and periodic turn bays. All open. This is a major milestone for a major project which began in late 2010. There is still some work to be done: minor sidewalk fixes, treebox installation, new light fixtures, street markings and signage. But 18th Street NW form Florida Ave to Columbia Rd is open and that's good news! The entire streetscape project is scheduled for completion this August.
