Adams Morgan music/vintage/clothing shop Joint Custody officially made the move to U Street NW last weekend. A loss for Adams Morgan, but looks like a great move for the owners and for shoppers on U Street. Joint Custody opened in late 2011 and gained a reputation for carrying killer men's and women's clothing (especially tshirts), a fresh music stock, vintage jerseys + a little bit of this and that.
The new space at 1530 U St NW is larger (maybe 2.5 or 3 times larger?) and definitely has better curb appeal considering you can see inside from the street, which wasn't true of the original space under Pharmacy Bar. Best part about the new space: custom-handmade decoupage'd record bins. SO AWESOME. Actually, this whole block of U Street is pretty awesome. Good luck to the owners!
