I've been hearing about a potential Subway restaurant on Mount Pleasant Street for a few months and there's finally signage up announcing the arrival. If you aren't aware, Subway makes submarine sandwiches to order, using a customizable assembly line operation. Along with sandwiches, they offer salads, soft drinks, and chips/cookies, etc. Subway was established as a single shop in Connecticut in 1965. Today there are 37,000+ franchised locations worldwide, including a store just blocks away at 14th and Park NW.
The new fast-casual style restaurant will be at 3174 Mount Pleasant St NW, in the old Suns Discount variety store. City permits indicate that the restaurant space will be 1,110 square feet and have just 12 seats.
