Rise Bakery, T Mobile Get Signage in Adams Morgan

There are plenty of empty retail storefronts n Adams Morgan. I mean, a lot of them. But, two spaces look to to be on the way to hosting businesses sooner than later. T Mobile appears to be opening a store at 1796 Columbia Rd NW, near 18th. This space is adjacent to what used to be the Mixtec restaurant. There is currently a T Mobile cell phone store operating less than one block away at 1775 Columbia Rd NW. 

Earlier this year, we learned that Rise, a gluten free bakery, was coming to the neighborhood. They have just installed an awning, finally replacing the old "Ink'N'This" tattoo sign at 2409 18th Street NW. The bakery is close to opening, but is dealing with permit issues per their Facebook page. Good luck Rise!

Gluten Free Bakery Opening in Adams Morgan

Rise Gluten Free Bakery has announced its presence in Adam Morgan. The bakery is setting up shop at 2409 18th Street NW, next to Ventnor Sports Cafe. The temporary signage indicates an opening date of Summer 2014. Rise has a Facebook page that claims it would be DC's first and only gluten-free bakery.

Update: This will also be a peanut-free bakery and they will offer vegan items daily.

"Rise Bakery will be opening its doors in the heart of Adams Morgan on 18th street.

Our culinary artists have spent over a year creating our menu, using unique blends of featherlight flours to bring you baked goods that are so delicious you won't have any idea they are gluten-free.

We are prepared to serve a daily assortment of everything from muffins and danishes to cakes, cupcakes and tarts. Our cafè will offer gourmet sandwiches on artisan bread.

We will be making menu items public one at a time as we inch closer to our grand opening, so stay tuned to keep updated on what's RISIN'!"
