Another hot and humid Adams Morgan Day is in the books! The 30th annual late summer street party was well attended although I noticed much less pre-fest advertising this year. Some of the sights and sounds included:
* Madam's Organ festival boycott due to reasons I haven't quite wrapped my head around
*about 1,000 official and non official vendors selling Obama everything (playing cards, buttons, baby onsies)
*karaoke dominated by singers who thought this could be their "breakout" performance
*lots of politicians and free stickers, pamphlets
*learn salsa!, or just watch like we did
*music galore, including some decent jazz in kalorama park
*food, food, food, and much of it in the handheld variety
*here's to doing it again next year...
